Our Landscape Design Process

A landscape that still looks good a year later starts with the property, not a plant list. Medscapes begins with a consultation and site evaluation at your home — how you use the yard, where the sun falls, how water moves after a storm, which existing plants and hardscape are worth keeping, and where the space feels unfinished. That is where the practical calls get made: privacy, shade, curb appeal, drainage, irrigation coverage, and how the front, side, and back yards connect.

From there we develop a concept and plan before anything gets planted. The point is to organize the space so beds, turf, walkways, patios, lighting, and irrigation all pull in the same direction — and to catch crowded beds, poor plant placement, awkward foot traffic, and drainage problems on paper, where they are cheap to fix.

Plant and material selection is made for Florida conditions. Wesley Chapel and the greater Tampa Bay area bring heat, sandy soil, strong sun, heavy summer rain, and dry stretches, so we choose plantings, sod, hardscape, irrigation, lighting, and drainage that fit the site instead of fighting it. Installation is handled by our own crew — bed prep, planting, sod, patios, walkways, retaining walls, irrigation, lighting, drainage, and seasonal color — and we close with a walkthrough so you know exactly how to care for the new landscape.

What Goes Into a Medscapes Landscape Design

• Plant beds and Florida-appropriate plants: beds shaped and planted around sunlight, mature size, color, and texture, and how each area reads from the home, driveway, and street.
• Turf and sod: lawn areas planned for clean edges, usable space, drainage, and irrigation coverage.
• Hardscape: patios, walkways, and retaining walls that define outdoor living space, guide foot traffic, and handle grade changes.
• Irrigation: designed in from the start so plants and turf sit where they can actually be watered efficiently.
• Landscape lighting: to highlight trees, beds, walkways, and entries and improve visibility at night.
